Faring prices in VBB rise: from 2025 up to 7.53% more pay!
Fahr prices in the Berlin-Brandenburg Transport Association (VBB) will increase by an average of 7.53 percent on January 1, 2025! This drastic increase is a direct reaction to the exploding costs for fuels, personnel and investments in local public transport. From the new year, the single ticket for the Zones Berlin will be raised to EUR 3.80, while the single ticket for the Zones Berlin ABC will cost 4.80 euros. For occasional drivers, the 4-trip card with 2.90 euros per trip remains an attractive option.
price adjustments and validity of travel cards
The new prices can now be viewed on the website vbb.de/tickets/. Important to know: already purchased travel IDs, which are valid by June 30, 2025, retain their validity, even if the prices change. So if you are planning in advance, you can still secure the old prices! The adjustments also affect driving prices in the local tariff and regional tariff, as well as in the independent cities of Brandenburg.
In addition, the states of Berlin and Brandenburg decided not to continue the VBB-ABO trainee in 2025. Existing contracts can be used by the end of their term, but an extension or a new conclusion is only possible until January 1, 2025. A new succession offer based on the Germany ticket is being developed in cooperation with VBB. This Germany ticket will be available for 58 euros per month from 2025, which means an increase of 9 euros.
