SV Weiden fails in the water polo cup: Laatzen triumphs 16: 8!
drama in the water polo! The SV Weiden has been sensational in the German Water Board Cup! Despite a strong first half and a captivating performance by goalkeeper Andrii Lobodynskyi, who shone with spectacular parades, the Weidener had to give up with 8:16 at the end of the SpVG Laatzen.
From the beginning, the Weidener showed a focused performance in the first quarter, clinging to an exciting 3: 3. We continued in a gripping second quarter, where both teams rival at eye level and went into the half -time break with a narrow 4: 4. But in the second half the game tipped dramatically! The Weidener presented mistakes in the defensive and a number of personal fouls with massive challenges, while Laatzen took the weaknesses mercilessly. Without Lobodynskyi's shiny parades, the result would have been even darker. On the other hand, the worm seemed to be in the offensive; Only Denis Underberg with five goals and Robert Reichert with three goals could shine.
Next step: league preparation!
The SV Weiden is now paying attention to the upcoming season in the second division and is planning a decisive preparation tournament in Halle in early November. There the team under coach Sean Ryder would like to prepare optimally for the league start in December and collect valuable game practice.
The result at a glance: SpVG Laatzen - SV Weiden 16: 8 (3: 3, 1: 1, 6: 3, 6: 1), with Lobodynskyi in the goal and the goal hunters under Underberg and enriched. A bitter out, but the hope for improvement lives!
