Winter magic and St. Nicholas Market: Festive highlights in the Passauer Land!
The festive season has arrived in Passauer Land! The first Christmas markets open their doors and invite you to a magical experience. In Bad Füssing, visitors can expect a spectacular “winter magic” in the festively decorated spa forest next weekend. Things also get exciting in Rotthalmünster: The St. Nicholas market takes place here on the market square, where traditional handicrafts and culinary delicacies await guests. A highlight will be the impressive light and laser show that will amaze visitors!
The ceremonial opening of the Bad Füssing winter magic begins on Friday at 4 p.m. Mayor Tobias Kurz and spa and tourism manager Daniela Leipelt will start the event, accompanied by the eagerly awaited Christ Child. Musically, it will be atmospheric with Bavarian-Bohemian brass music from 4 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. From 7 p.m., the Perchten of the Ruhstorfer Rottdeifen will provide eerie entertainment, followed by a thrilling percussion experience with the duo “Double Drums” until 10 p.m. On Saturday, the market stalls can be visited from 4 p.m., while the spa orchestra creates a cozy atmosphere. Another musical highlight will be the “Milestones Quintet,” which will perform from 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
Diverse program at the St. Nicholas Market
The St. Nicholas market in Rotthalmünster also promises a colorful program. Mayor Günter Straußberger opens the market on Saturday at 5 p.m. Guests can look forward to Christmas music, dance performances and a Punch and Judy show. On Sunday, Santa Claus is expected at 3 p.m. to distribute gifts to the children - an annual highlight that delights the little ones! The entire weekend will be accompanied by musical performances from local schools and clubs, creating a festive atmosphere.
