Picasso in Neumarkt: Masterpieces from the Klewan Collection from November 3rd!
An exciting art event is coming! From November 3, 2024 to February 16, 2025, the Lothar Fischer Museum in Neumarkt will be the venue for the special exhibition “Pablo Picasso – Klewan Collection”. This unique presentation marks the 50th anniversary of the legendary painter's death and promises to captivate visitors with Picasso's impressive graphic work. The vernissage tour on the opening day, November 3rd at 2 p.m., will be led by collector Helmut Klewan and museum director Dr. Pia Dornacher directed.
Picasso, considered one of the greatest artists of the 20th century, left behind a huge graphic oeuvre that had a lasting impact on the art world. In the Upper Palatinate, Picasso and Lothar Fischer, who is described as a “gigantic designer”, meet posthumously. The exhibition will feature a fascinating selection of Picasso's works, covering themes such as 'Artist and Model', 'Scenes on the Beach' and the myths of the Minotaur and the Faun. Particularly noteworthy are the portraits, which emerged less from sessions with models and more from the artist's vivid imagination.
