Arrest after attack on Oktoberfest visitor in Munich!
A worrying incident occurred on Sunday, October 6, 2024, at the Oktoberfest in Munich. A 25-year-old woman who was in the festival tent with friends was sexually harassed by an unknown man. The man reached under the woman's skirt from behind and performed unwanted sexual acts there. After a short time he let go of her and tried to escape. The woman and her friends responded quickly by informing security, who were able to detain the suspect until police arrived.
It turned out that the 41-year-old perpetrator was from Munich. He was immediately arrested and will be brought before the investigating judge, who will decide on the question of detention. Fortunately, the 25-year-old was not injured as a result of the crime. The investigation is now being continued by the Commissioner for Sexual Offenses (Commissioner 15).
More incidents at Oktoberfest
Another notable incident took place in the Isarvorstadt. A 36-year-old man from Munich was the victim of an attack on the night of Saturday, October 5th, as he was riding his bicycle home. Unknown perpetrators attacked him, punched him in the face and stole his wallet. The man was injured in the attack and taken to hospital. The police investigation is ongoing and a search for witnesses has been started.
In addition, the police reported that a break-in had taken place in a terraced house in the Nymphenburg district. Unknown perpetrators broke into the building on Sunday, October 6th and stole jewelry and cash. The investigators would like to call on witnesses who observed anything suspicious during the period in question to help.
Traffic and fire offences
On the night of October 6th, the police carried out speed measurements on Ingolstädter Straße. Several drivers were caught driving at significantly excessive speeds, most of whom live in Munich. Administrative offense proceedings were initiated against all of them. The police emphasize that road safety is a top priority and checks will therefore continue to be carried out.
Another incident reported to police was attributed to a possible attempted arson. On Wednesday, October 2nd, social media users informed the police about suspicious activity on Thalkirchner Strasse, although no concrete clues have been found so far. The investigation in this case is carried out by the Commissariat for State Security.
