On Wednesday morning, December 11, 2024, there was a traffic accident on the KU 15 district road in the Kulmbach district that was caused by several deer. The animals suddenly crossed the road, which forced a 61-year-old woman who was driving her Skoda towards Lindau to slam on the brakes. A 53-year-old man driving behind her was no longer able to react in time and collided with the woman's car. In this rear-end collision, the driver and her 83-year-old passenger were slightly injured, particularly in the neck area. The total damage to the two vehicles amounts to around 15,000 euros, the reported Bayreuther Tagblatt.
Consequences of another accident
Meanwhile, another serious traffic accident occurred on Tuesday, June 12, 2024, on the B 303 near Stadtsteinach. A 60-year-old man from the Kulmbach district wanted to turn left in his VW Polo and overlooked an oncoming 42-year-old woman who was driving her Passat. Despite braking hard, she was no longer able to avoid a head-on collision, whereupon both vehicles were completely damaged. Everyone involved, including the passenger of the person who caused the accident, had to be treated on site by the emergency services and then taken to the Kulmbach Clinic. The material damage is estimated at around 25,000 euros, and the federal highway was closed for about half an hour while the accident was recorded and the vehicles were recovered, reported Frankenpost.
