A frightening cyber attack has hit schools in the Kitzingen district! After a targeted attack on the networks that are shared by several educational institutions, the district office is forced to call in the police. The situation is explosive!
Seven schools are affected: the state secondary schools in Kitzingen and Dettelbach, the Armin Knab High School, the Marktbreit High School, the vocational school as well as the FOSBOS and the Erich Kästner School in Kitzingen. This attack has severed all digital connections to the shared infrastructure, meaning that neither teachers nor students have access to their important school networks or the Internet. The schools can currently only be reached by telephone, but lessons continue - a real challenge in our digitalized world!
What happened?
The IT structures that connect these schools have come under attack, causing enormous disruption. While investigations are underway to determine the causes and extent of the damage, schools have no choice but to adapt their curricula to the emergency.
