Ingolstadt and Mannheim shine - where is the EHC and the sharks?
In the current season of the Penny Del, clear winners and losers are emerging after eight game days have already completed. The first developments show that the teams from Ingolstadt and Mannheim have made an impressive appearance, while Straubing draws attention to themselves with a sobering performance.
The Ingolstadt residents are at the top of the table and have presented themselves strongly through targeted reinforcements. Six victories in a row underpin their dominance in the league. The eagles from Mannheim also show their best side. Under the direction of the former NHL coach Dallas Ekins, you have formed a harmonious team that remains without injury. The calm in the environment and the coexistence in the cabin contribute to the positive development.
The champions Eisbären and Bremerhaven in the upward trend
In comparison, the defending champion Eisbären Berlin acts solidly, despite personnel bottlenecks on the defensive. Trainer Serge Aubin is very well received due to his fair way and his respectful way of dealing with the players. Reinforcements such as the newcomers Kirk and Fontaine prove to be a good move, especially Center Gabriel Fontaine has turned out to be a valuable purchase.
Bremerhaven, after the change of coach, also remains strong. While Alex Sulzer has a different attention when it comes to defensive than his predecessor, the young Fabian Herrmann (22 years) shows himself as an emerging talent. His development under Sulzer is gratifying, which gives fans hope for a continued positive season.
The Cologne sharks, on the other hand, experience a different reality. Despite high investments in new players and the commitment of coach Kari Jalons, the success is not possible. After a home defeat against Schwenningen, the sharks are only in seventh place and have to fight with a narrow distance from the relegation candidates like Augsburg.
the EHC Munich and the challenges
So far,the EHC RB Munich has not fulfilled the high expectations and already has nine points behind the leading Ingolstadt. The latest defeat against Düsseldorf (1: 2 after penalty shooting) has further tightened the situation. Viewers in the last two home games show a worrying picture when it comes to the attraction of the new SAP Garden. Trainer Toni Söderholm is under pressure and urgently needs to find solutions to lead the team out of the crisis.
The situation of the bottom of the table Straubing, on the other hand, is alarming. After another defeat against Mannheim (2: 6) there were many whistles from the disappointed fans. The Tigers are already under strong pressure after seven defeats. Although there was talk of a positive development with young German talents, the table shows a different picture - only place twelve is not what the team had hoped for, and the relegation battle is already emerging.
There is not yet an upswing in sight with the Tigers. In the current constitution, it will be extremely difficult to free yourself from the lower half of the table. A quick rethink and a winning streak are now absolutely necessary so as not to slip into a solid crisis. Trainer Tom Pokel and his assistant coach Rob Leask are currently under observation.
