Drama on the A9: Salvary cars overturned, both directions blocked!
A serious traffic accident on the A9 led to a temporary full closure of the highway on Wednesday afternoon both in the direction of Nuremberg and in the direction of Munich. From previous reports it can be seen that an off -road vehicle came from the road alone at around 4:12 p.m. and overturned. The 84-year-old driver from Kaufbeuren and his wife were on the way towards Munich when the accident happened.
In the course of the incident, the vehicle fell on the right lane through a reason that has so far been unclear and collided with the guardrail. However, this did not take care of the traffic rules and acted more like a "ski jump". As a result, the car tipped to the right and stayed on the roof, off the road in the green strip.
slightly injured, but freed yourself
Fortunately,The occupants of the vehicle, the driver and his wife were able to free themselves from the car. They only suffered minor injuries, which is calming but could not prevent a rescue helicopter was called to the scene of the accident because the injury situation was initially unclear. The use of the rescue helicopter meant that the opposite direction of the highway had to be temporarily blocked.
backwater and total economic damage
The full closure caused a backlog of up to twelve kilometers towards Munich. The motorway was released at 5 p.m. for the direction of Munich, while the road was released towards Nuremberg about half an hour later. The total economic damage to the off -road vehicle amounts to around 20,000 euros, while the damage to the guardrail costs around 1,000 euros.
The police officers have documented the incident and the exact circumstances are still the subject of investigations. Such accidents illustrate the importance of traffic safety and the often unexpected dangers on motorways.
