Döbelner UHC fights bravely, but loses a dramatic extension!
Ingolstadt/Döbeln. A heartbeat finale of extra class! The UHC Döbeln lost 8: 7 after extra time in a gripping game against the Schanzer Ducks. Despite the defeat, the UHC was able to take a point home. "Ingolstadt is not a walk-in customer, even if the Schanzer Ducks are the last," said UHC chairman Ingolf Thoß and referred to the missing four regulars who heavily burdened the team.
The Döbelner started the game strongly and led 3-1 after the first third, thanks to the gates of Elias Handschack (2) and clamp. But the joy did not last long, because in the second third the Bavarians turned up and won this section 4: 2. Tobias Baier and Gunnar scored the hits for Döbeln, but the missed opportunities should take revenge.
Dramatic final phase
In the exciting final phase, the UHC seemed on the winning road when Edwin Rudolph and Tobias Baier made the Ingolstadt leadership leadership. But 24 seconds before the end of the regular season, the equalization for the hosts fell. In the extension, an unfortunate shot from the Ingolstadt residents made the decision after only 1:13 minutes and left the Döbelner with empty hands. Despite this bitter defeat, the UHC remains in sixth place in the table, but missed the chance to consolidate their position.
