Freising, Deutschland - The Archdiocese of Munich and Freising stands in the starting blocks for the spectacular Korbinian week! A whole year full of celebrations for the 1300th anniversary of the diocese patron Korbinian culminates with the return of the youth corban pilgrimage to Freising. On Saturday, November 16, young people and young adults flock to the majestic Mariendom to celebrate and pray together. Under the motto "List us! See us! Live to faith", the pilgrimage, which leads from Pulling, Munich or along the Isar to Freising, will be an unforgettable experience!

After a year in Munich, due to construction work on the Domberg, the large youth pilgrimage returns to the hearts of the Freising. The service, which is headed by Cardinal Reinhard Marx at 4 p.m., promises an emotional cooperation, supplemented by workshops and a colorful program in the adjacent cathedral high school and the newly designed diocesan museum. But that's not all! On Friday, November 22nd, at 5:30 p.m., an ecumenical light procession will take place from the parish church of St. Georg to the cathedral, in which the shrine of St. Korbinian is carried through the city center. All Christians are invited to sing and pray the Vesper with Cardinal Marx, accompanied by the rousing melodies of Max Eham.

The partnership evening in the Domgymnasium and the partnership service on Saturday, November 23, with Auxiliary Bishop Wolfgang Bischof, continued the celebrations. Representatives of European partner communities come together to commemorate the holiness of Korbinian and to strengthen the connection. The crowning glory of the anniversary celebrations will take place on Sunday, November 24th, at 10 a.m. in the Munich Cathedral, where a relic of St. Korbinian will find its place. At 5:30 p.m. the bells in all churches in the archdiocese ring to pass the anniversary year.

The Korbinian week is accompanied by the Domberg Academy, which offers exciting events, including one evening about women in church history and a day for religious teachers. This week not only promises spiritual renewal, but also a deeper examination of the history and the values of faith.
