Fight for the kindergarten: Au municipality starts educational offensive!
The market town of Au is in turmoil! The municipality wants to use all its might to prevent the success of the citizens' petition to preserve the Maria de la Paz kindergarten. Mayor Hans Sailer and his team have launched a large-scale educational campaign to convince citizens of the need for a new building. The heated debate about the future of the kindergarten, whether new construction or renovation, is coming to a head. While supporters of the renovation are collecting signatures, the community sees no way out of the situation - a new building is needed!
False information circulating
“We have to go public now,” Sailer explained at a press conference in the kindergarten. Despite numerous discussions in the local council, many citizens believe that the old kindergarten will either be renovated or demolished. These misunderstandings should now be cleared up with flyers and banners. “There is no alternative to new construction!” emphasizes Sailer. The existing kindergarten currently lacks 220 square meters for important rooms, and the traffic situation would worsen if it were renovated. The community wants to make it clear that the new building will also meet the needs of integrative children.
Kindergarten administrators are frustrated by the false claims circulating. “We often tried to talk, but the initiators of the citizens' initiative never approached us,” says kindergarten director Anja Brunner. She and her deputy Sabrina Ziegler are convinced that the children would have to be accommodated in containers if the citizens' initiative is successful - a situation that the parents would certainly not accept. “This is about our children!” the community appeals to citizens not to sign lightly.
Local councilor Michael Hagl has clear words: “We will do everything we can to ensure that there is no referendum.” The municipality is ready to use all means to stop the citizens' initiative. The mayors and councils themselves will bear the costs of the educational campaign, as a budget freeze has been imposed. It will be exciting to see how the situation will develop further!
