Freising in the financial crisis: Where is the money for city projects?

Things are really bubbling in Freising! The city is struggling with a pressing deficit of 780,000 euros in its administrative budget. While the traffic light government in Berlin is floundering, Freising is faced with its own challenges. Citizens ask themselves: where is the money? The answer might be shocking: an old town festival or folk festival could soon only take place every two years! And that's not all - the city is even thinking of selling the iconic "red 1300" on Marienplatz. A popular photo motif could soon be history!

But that's not the only problem child. The construction industry is being promoted while the city is simultaneously increasing its fees. The renovation of roads and bridges eats up money, and the Moosach Bridge between Dr.-von-Daller-Straße and the Luitpoldanlage is being rebuilt for half a million euros - a project that no one asked for! And while the pedestrian and cycle path to the airport is finally to be tarred, the question remains: Who will take care of the winter service? The city and the airport share the cost of 400,000 euros, but citizens have to be prepared for additional fees.
