A traffic accident occurred on January 5, 2023 at 5:50 p.m. on federal highway 299 near Ödmühle. A silver Ford Focus from the Ludwigsburg district left the road and fell into the Isen flood channel. The 49-year-old driver from the northern district of Mühldorf and her 13-year-old son were slightly injured in the incident and taken to a local hospital. The fire department was able to free the driver from the vehicle while the son was able to help himself.
The course of the accident shows that the driver was traveling north when she veered off the road to the right, hit the guardrail, overturned and finally fell about five meters into the dry flood channel. The car crashed head-on into the guardrail of the oncoming lane. Fortunately, no other vehicles were involved and there were no injuries. The police estimated total damage of around 10,000 euros.
