TSV Feldkirchen missed a win against Ebersberg: penalty drama in the home game!

A shocker for the newcomers! TSV Feldkirchen, which has so far performed so well in A-Class 6, experienced bitter disappointment in the home game against FC Ebersberg. In a game that already looked bleak after 20 minutes, Feldkirchen was awarded not just one, but two penalties. But they failed twice due to their own inability to turn the round into the square.

Lukas Horn stepped up and missed the first penalty. The referee whistled the shot for a replay and Horn faced the pressure again - but the ball didn't find its way into the net in the second attempt either. Coach Thomas Englert expressed his horror: “Of course we can’t be satisfied with this result.” Despite the strong season with 18 points from nine games, the dream of making it to the district class suddenly became a long way off. The 0-0 draw against the previous bottom of the table brings the Feldkirchner Dreamers back down to earth.

The missed opportunity

The opportunity for the sixth win of the season would definitely have been there! In the second 30 minutes, the hosts had several good chances, especially through three set pieces that unsettled the Ebersberg defense. But Jonas Anneser and Lukas Bayerl failed miserably when they couldn't get the ball into the goal while the visitors' defense cleared at the last second. “In games like this you need the sharpness to take advantage of the chances,” said Englert, criticizing his team’s lack of penetration.

While FC Ebersberg proved itself in the district class last year, the newcomers are impressively clever and should be on their guard if the team from Ebersberg had launched dangerous counterattacks. In the end, the goalless draw was a more than fair result and despite the questionable performance, coach Englert remains satisfied with how the season has gone so far: “I am positively surprised at how well we are currently doing as promoted teams!” he says. The only question is whether TSV Feldkirchen can recover or whether this setback will spoil the mood in the team.
