Renovation on the Mühlbach: municipal utilities protect the banks from slipping!
In Dachau, the bank of the Mühlbach at Brunngartenstrasse 5 is being fundamentally renovated! The municipal utilities have started work to ensure the long-term stability of the bank area and to prevent the entrance to the adjacent parking deck from slipping. This urgent action is expected to take three to four weeks and is of paramount importance to the safety of the area.
Urgent renovation work
Over a length of 46 meters, bushes, roots and earth will be removed to make room for robust bank reinforcement. The construction workers are using sturdy river bricks to replace the existing structure, which consists of unstable materials such as steel pipes, round wooden beams and wire mesh. This old bank protection has proven to be inadequate, leading to dangerous bank subsidence. “The affected area is in danger of sinking, which poses considerable risks, especially for the entrance to the adjacent parking deck,” warn the municipal utilities urgently.
During the construction work, a minimum lane width of three meters will be maintained, so that Brunngartenstrasse only needs to be closed on one side in the area of house number 5. However, pedestrians and cyclists can use the nearby, newly renovated Mühlbachweg without restrictions. The municipal utility company is doing everything it can to carry out the work quickly and safely in order to minimize the dangers for residents and road users.
