Tenant's license in Haßberge: This is how refugees master the housing market!

A new project has started in Haßberge that is intended to help refugees find their way better on the housing market. The so-called “tenant’s license” offers migrants valuable knowledge about how they should behave as tenants in order to successfully find an apartment. Volunteer helpers, under the direction of Walter Nüßlein, conduct training courses that deal intensively with topics such as waste separation, rest periods and how to properly deal with landlords. Upon successful completion, participants receive a certificate that proves their suitability as reliable tenants. This could help to reduce existing prejudices among landlords and improve the chances of migrants on the housing market NP Coburg reported.

In addition to tenant qualification, the Haßberge district also offers support for the accommodation of refugees from Ukraine. The district office has provided a template for an “agreement on the temporary use of living space” to make it easier to rent to displaced people. This agreement allows hosts to create legal security for the rental and also regulates important points such as a security deposit. It was also pointed out that hosts should make sure to put the names of the new roommates on the mailboxes to ensure smooth communication with social welfare offices and other institutions. The district office also collects all housing offers centrally in order to respond directly to the needs of refugees, as on the website Hassberge.de is to be read.
