Memminger Indians fight for an important away win in Bad Tölz!
The ice hockey fans in Memmingen were finally able to cheer again! After a bitter home defeat against the Onesto Tigers Bayreuth on October 25, 2024, in which the Indians lost 5:6, they showed their true fighting spirit in the away game against EC Bad Tölz on October 28, 2024 and secured three important points.
The game in Bad Tölz unfolds like a jet of fresh air! The Indians, who initially struggled, broke the spell early with a powerplay goal from Robert Peleikis. But the game was disjointed and the spectators experienced ebbs and flows of emotions. The Tölzer Löwen equalized and even briefly took the lead. A strong performance from goalkeeper Louis Eisenhut was required, but the Memmingen team showed class when Denis Fominych and Linus Svedlund tried to turn things around. Despite some blatant mistakes in the backward movement, the Indians didn't give up and ultimately turned the emerging uncertainty into a successful afternoon.
Place in the table secured in style!
With the 5-2 win against the Lions, ECDC Memmingen consolidated its third place in the league table. Eddy Homjakovs, who was brilliantly played by Dominik Meisinger, confidently secured the first goal, followed by a quick visit to the lions with another goal from Tobi Meier. Despite a rebellion from the home team, who were able to reduce the score to 1:3 through Reto Schüpping, Memmingen remained focused. Denis Fominych and Markus Lillich covered their own goal with a solid defensive performance and ultimately brought the score to 5:2. Not a single puck could pass the line of gathered fans as the Indians claimed victory and three crucial points!
Another important away game continues on October 29, 2024 at EC Peiting. The Indians need full commitment to collect points again. The next home game against Deggendorfer SC, the current league leaders, will follow on November 1st, 2024 - a real highlight that fans can look forward to!
