Bayern alert: Upamecano back in training – Musiala questionable for Stuttgart!
An exciting day for FC Bayern Munich supporters!
On Thursday, coach Vincent Kompany hid the training behind a privacy screen again. The fans who had gathered on the legendary Säbener Straße could only see gray curtains and lowered awnings.
But there is good news straight from the training sessions!
According to information from BILD, Dayot Upamecano, who was sidelined eleven days ago with an injury to his right thigh, has made his comeback and completed the entire training session, including an intensive final game. His return could prove important as there is already a top Bundesliga game against VfB Stuttgart on Saturday.
The situation with Jamal Musiala
In contrast to Upamecano, the situation with Jamal Musiala looks less rosy. The 21-year-old, who suffers from hip problems, did not train fully with the team on Thursday. Bayern don't want to take any risks and are focusing on getting Musiala fit for the upcoming Champions League game against FC Barcelona on Wednesday. A game against Stuttgart therefore seems unlikely.
While Musiala carried out individual training exercises, Aleksandar Pavlovic came to training on Thursday with a small bandage on his left lower leg, but otherwise appeared fit and ready for the league clash. The bandage is the result of a bruise he sustained in a training duel a week earlier.
Sacha Boey, who is recovering from a torn meniscus in his left knee, was also not involved in team training. Instead, he worked individually under the guidance of a rehabilitation coach. In addition to his physical training, Boey also had lessons in German. For the language, the lesson moved to the balcony outside the gym, which gave him the opportunity to chat briefly with Kingsley Coman and Alphonso Davies.
Another interesting detail from the training day was the visit from Nils Schmadtke, the club's newly appointed chief scout. He watched the training session from the balcony and was accompanied by sports director Max Eberl, with whom he is friends.
It will be exciting to see how the players' situation develops until the big game against Stuttgart!
