U12 teams in competition: Fulda and Eberbach invite you!

On January 6th, 2025 there will be an exciting U12 indoor tournament in the Gellingshalle in Fulda, which is organized by SG Barockstadt. The tournament begins at 11 a.m. and ends with the final scheduled for 5:26 p.m. This year the “Champions Cup” for U12 teams will be held for the first time.

Florian Wotzlaw, coach of the D2 juniors, noted that there are not many tournament opportunities in this age group. Due to high demand, the field of participants was expanded from the original eight to ten teams. Teams from SG Barockstadt (three teams), Eintracht Frankfurt, FSV Mainz 05, Darmstadt 98, Hessen Kassel, KSV Baunatal, SG Bruchköbel and Viktoria Aschaffenburg will take part in this competition. The teams will be divided into two groups of four before the knockout phase begins from the quarter-finals. Admission to this event is free. The Gellingshalle is located at Willi-Glotzbach-Weg 1, 36037 Fulda.

Other events for young people

In addition to the tournament in Fulda, the GELITA U12 Cup took place on December 2nd in the Hohenstaufen sports hall in Eberbach. This event was organized by the Eberbacher Sport Club (ESC) and started at 9 a.m., with the award ceremony at around 6:15 p.m. 14 teams competed here, including youth teams from eight Bundesliga clubs, such as TSG 1899 Hoffenheim, VfB Stuttgart, 1. FC Kaiserslautern, FSV Mainz 05 and Eintracht Frankfurt.

The participants were divided into two groups with seven teams each. Mayor Peter Reichert was patron of the event. The following Sunday there was also a U11 Cup starting at 9 a.m., in which CFR Pforzheim, SSV Reutlingen, Astoria Walldorf and the local ESC teams took part.
