A memorable Friday in Ravensburg! On October 25th, the brilliant judoka Anna-Maria Wagner was duly welcomed in the town hall. As a two-time world champion and Olympic medalist, she is not only the city's most successful athlete, but also a national icon.
The celebrations were breathtaking! Mayor Daniel Rapp and sports association chairman Karlheinz Beck paid homage to Wagner's incredible achievements in the small meeting room, while their friends, family and an enthusiastic audience recognized the glorious moment with long applause. Particularly noteworthy is her unique honor of carrying the German flag together with basketball star Dennis Schröder at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris. This shows how much recognition there is for their skills!
Honor and gifts for the champion
Wagner not only received her second entry in the city's Golden Book, but also unique gifts celebrating her achievements. As a crowning finale, Mayor Rapp presented her with an affirming caricature by Rainer Weishaupt, which shows her with the German flag in front of the famous Eiffel Tower. A symbol of triumph and pride for the entire city!
This celebration was not only an unforgettable event for Wagner, but for everyone who was able to see how the Ravensburger sports world came together to honor one of its greatest. A day that will remain in the memory of everyone involved!
