Eispiren Crimmitschau: 3-0 lead lost, but keep scoring!

In an exciting and intense game, the Eispiren Crimmitschau suffered a painful defeat against the Ravensburg Towerstars on Friday evening. Although the team under coach Jussi Tuores initially had a 3-0 lead, they were unable to win the game in the end and lost 3-4 after extra time. Nevertheless, it is remarkable that the Ice Pirates were able to collect points for the fourth time in a row.

The match took place in Ravensburg, where the Ice Pirates played with almost the same line-up as in their last home game against Selb, which they won 3-1. There was only one change in goal: Oleg Shilin replaced Christian Schneider. The start of the game was even, but after about ten minutes the Ice Pirates scored their first goal. Mirko Sacher hit the net with a precise wrist shot, giving the team a 1-0 lead.

A crucial turning point

After the first break, the Crimmitschauers immediately followed up when Colin Smith, who was in the majority, optimally served Tobias Lindberg. Lindberg made it 2-0. Just a few moments later they were able to extend their lead to 3-0 when Colin Smith intervened again. He perfectly set up Adam Payerl, who beat Towerstars goalkeeper Ilya Sharipov.

The game became even more exciting in the final third as the Towerstars equalized to make it 3-3 in a hectic game. A shot from Mathew Santos came as a surprise to Oleg Shilin, who had no sight of the puck. This twist sent the game into overtime.

In overtime, the Ice Pirates initially showed a strong performance and had several good chances, but it was Santos who became the decisive figure again: He scored the decisive goal for the Towerstars in the 64th minute and thus ensured the Crimmitschauer's final defeat with 3:4.

The spectators in the Ravensburg stadium, a total of 2,234 fans, were rewarded with a thrilling game in which the Ice Pirates demonstrated their fighting spirit and skills despite the defeat. A detailed analysis of this exciting encounter will certainly be a topic of discussion in the next few days, especially how the Crimmitschauers will manage to build on their successes in their next encounter.
