Separate organic waste correctly: This is how Karlsruhe becomes the energy city!

Loetzener Straße 14, 76139 Karlsruhe, Deutschland - Bio -waste - a valuable raw material that can be transformed into compost and biogas! But the quality of the collected organic waste often leaves something to be desired. The Clean Karlsruhe (TSK) team has now launched an exciting initiative to sensitize the citizens in large residential complexes to the correct separation and disposal of organic waste. In the coming weeks, the TSK will actively communicate with the tenants and check the effectiveness of their measures.

The numbers are alarming: a large part of the organic waste ends up in the residual waste! The organic waste is often packed in plastic or bioplastic bags, which makes it considerably more difficult to use. The right disposal is very simple: leftovers, fruit and vegetable shells as well as coffee filters and tea bags belong in the bio bin- but unpacked! Plastic bags are an absolute no-go! The best solution? Bio -waste loose, wrapped in newspaper or disposed of in paper bags.
