From October 22nd, the waste management experts will be ready to take a close look at the biotons in the region. If you are in control and have no unwanted materials in your bin, you can look forward to a sticker - but that's just the tip of the iceberg!

Waste management pursues a clear goal: In the next few months, awareness of clean waste separation should be further strengthened. Foreign substances in organic waste are not just a nuisance, they can significantly hinder the recycling as a compost or in fermentation systems. "Our previous controls have shown improvements, but the desired success is not yet visible everywhere," said District Administrator Ian Schölzel. With Betty and Wutzi, the next crucial step will now take a more environmentally friendly disposal.

The consequences for the garbage fees

An alarming turn expects all future waste separation muffle: From May 2025, user bio waste with too many foreign substances may no longer be accepted. What does that mean? There are high disposal fees for contaminated organic waste - which can be a burden for citizens on the garbage fee account! Christoph Bobrich, managing director of waste management, warns: "That is why it is now more important than ever to pay attention to a clean separation!
