Serious accident on A81: diesel leak causes traffic jams for hours!

Heilbronn – A dramatic truck accident on the A81 caused massive traffic problems on Monday evening! At around 1:40 a.m. a 64-year-old driver lost control of his trailer on a wet road. The disaster began when the truck left the road, broke through the guardrail and crashed into the central guardrail across all lanes. A shocking sight as the vehicle finally came to a stop on the hard shoulder!

Fortunately, the driver was uninjured, but the consequences of the accident are devastating. The truck's tank tore open and 400 liters of diesel spilled onto the highway - a dangerous situation! The total damage is estimated at around 40,000 euros, and the cause of the accident remains unknown for the time being. The police had to temporarily close the A81 completely in order to carry out the cleaning and rescue work.

The closure caused a huge traffic jam that lasted until Tuesday morning. While the left lane is now accessible again, the other two lanes remain closed. Drivers have to be prepared for delays of over an hour, especially before the Weinsberg intersection. The police strongly recommend the U2 diversion to avoid the traffic chaos.
