Burglars and shoplifters: Friedrichshafen and the surrounding area in excitement!

In recent days, the Lake Constance district has made headlines with several incidents that have called the police into action. A series of thefts and disputes characterize events in the region.

A remarkable incident recently occurred in Friedrichshafen when a 20-year-old man was suspected of being responsible for several thefts. An alert eyewitness, an employee of a clothing store, noticed the suspect leaving the store and reported the incident to the police. The young man didn't show up for long: when he saw the emergency services, he disposed of suspected stolen items. A search revealed that not only were two pieces of high-quality clothing in his possession, but also perfume, a backpack and a cap. The authorities suspect that the suspect may have been responsible for a series of thefts in the Ravensburg area in the past.

Dispute over cigarette disposal

Another incident occurred when an improperly discarded cigarette butt led to a physical argument between a 48-year-old and a 23-year-old driver. The driver had thrown the stub out of the window during a break in traffic, which angered the older man. He responded by picking up the cigarette butt and throwing it back into the driver's car, even leaving a burn mark on the car seat. Both parties involved now have to deal with legal consequences, as the police are investigating the elderly man for property damage, while the driver is being held accountable for improper waste disposal.

On Wednesday, the authorities in Tettnang carried out a shocking operation when a 76-year-old pedestrian was hit by a Dacia on Bahnhofstrasse. The accident occurred at the pedestrian crossing when the driver, a 69-year-old man, failed to see the senior citizen. The elderly man sustained a head injury and had to be taken to hospital for treatment. Interestingly, there was no significant damage to property during the incident.

Burglary attempts in Markdorf

In Markdorf, however, the police noticed an attempted break-in that took place between Friday and Tuesday afternoon in a restaurant on Meersburger Straße. An unknown perpetrator attempted to gain access to the restaurant, damaging a window and an entrance door. Although the property damage remained minor, the police station there has started an investigation and is asking for information from the public on 07544/9620-0.

Several thefts were recorded in Owingen on Thursday night. Unknown people broke into a farm in Urzenreute and stole cash. An attentive witness heard suspicious noises and apparently scared the thief off. However, there have also been reports of attempted break-ins in the surrounding towns of Unterbach and Hedertsweiler, although no thefts have been reported here so far. The Überlingen police have taken over the investigation and are accepting tips on 07551/804-0.

The current incidents in the Lake Constance district shed light on the ongoing problems with theft and improper waste disposal. Security authorities continue to work to establish the origins and background of these acts, while the public is asked to be vigilant and report any suspicious activity. Details about these events are sparse and investigations are ongoing to learn more about the background and any connections between the incidents.
