Strong beer festival in Laupheim: Hundreds celebrate the first tapping!
An unforgettable evening in Laupheim! On Saturday, hundreds of beer lovers flocked to the first strong beer tapping of the crown brewery and transformed the brewery's courtyard into a festival of the senses. At frosty six degrees, master brewer Paul Eble Jr. opened the event with a powerful tapping of the first beer barrel - four precise blows, and the evening was heralded!
"We were flat, how many people came," enthuses Eble. The strong beer tapping has a long tradition that dates back to the Middle Ages was enjoyed as a strong beer during Lent. In Laupheim, however, brewing is also made in the cold season, and for over 100 years with the famous Christmas goat. Visitors were able to look forward to a special experience: Hot lightbock, a delicious mix of light beer and spices, was offered, but most of them opted for the refreshing, cool beer and wheat beer.
A spectacular highlight: The Eisbock
An absolute highlight of the evening was the opening of the ice rink-a strong beer that was obtained from a frozen barrel. The barrel was opened at minus 20 degrees and the visitors experienced a real spectacle: three quarters of the content was frozen while all of the alcohol collected in the middle. "A high -proof elixir without carbon dioxide," Eble describes the result. The enthusiasm of the guests speaks for themselves: "We and the visitors were more than satisfied," says the master brewer and indicates a repeat of the event next year. The strong beer tapping in Laupheim was a complete success and a festival that is remembered!
