Beverungen. Action at night! In a breathtaking chase, the police were able to arrest two car thieves who were fleeing in a stolen BMW. After a dramatic crash into a property wall, the perpetrators were supposed to continue on foot. But the thermal imaging camera of a police helicopter made short work of their fleeting game of hide-and-seek in the bushes on the Weser.

The theft occurred on the night of Friday, October 25th, shortly after 4 a.m. The owner of the red BMW The rapid journey led through the streets of Beverungen until the accident happened: at the intersection of “In den Poelten” and “Grüner Weg”, the thieves’ coup crashed into a wall, which then partially collapsed. The two accomplices left the damaged car behind and fled.

Arrest of organized gang of thieves?

The police were quickly on the scene and called for reinforcements, including a helicopter. He hunted down the fleeing suspects using the latest technology. With success: From the air, the officers noticed two men in the bushes. The arrest followed immediately. During the check it turned out that they are a 20-year-old and a 21-year-old Polish citizen, who may be part of an organized car theft network. The district court has already ordered pre-trial detention.

But that's not all: that same night, another fast British hit, a red Audi Avant, was reported stolen. Despite an immediate international search, there is no sign of life from the Audi. There were also reports of two other attempted car thefts in the region. The criminal police suspect that all of these crimes are connected. The investigation is in full swing and the tension remains high!
