Adventures in the forest: Schiller-Realschule strengthens community with high seats
In Schwäbisch Gmünd, class 6a of the Schiller-Realschule experienced exciting days in the forest, which shaped the adventure of their school days. Equipped with sleeping bags and sleeping mats, the students went to the Häuptleswiese forest youth campsite in the Swabian-Franconian Forest, accompanied by dedicated school social workers and teachers. The three-day forest project “Violence Prevention through Forest Education” started here. A real experience for young adventurers!
The aim of the project was to develop responsibility, respect in dealing with one another and a careful approach to nature. After an exciting first night in the tent, strengthened by breakfast, the students went into the forest together with forest educators and experts. Exciting challenges such as the “volcano crater” and the “spider web” awaited here, in which teamwork, personal responsibility and skill were at the forefront. “Togetherness” was the motto, and the students gave it their all!
An unforgettable adventure in the forest
An absolute highlight was the construction of four high seats, which the children creatively named the “Schiller Seat”. A work of art of team spirit was created from trees that we felled ourselves! The students eagerly learned how to use tools and discovered new skills at work. In the evening it was all about socializing, cooking together, playing and making new friends.
In the end, everyone agreed: These days in the forest not only strengthened class cohesion, but also provided significant impetus for school life. This unforgettable adventure was made possible by the great support of the Soroptimist Club, which made an important contribution to promoting violence prevention.
