Powercolor brings the Radeon RX 9070 XT: revolution in the graphics market!

Powercolor is the first board partner to announce a top model of the RDNA 4 graphics cards with Navi 48. The new models to be presented are the Red Devil Radeon RX 9070 XT and the Hellhound Radeon RX 9070 XT. While the Red Devil Radeon RX 9070 XT will feature factory overclocking and a complex cooling solution, the Hellhound Radeon RX 9070 XT has a more subtle design and a large cutout in the backplate for improved air circulation.

No official technical specifications have yet been published for the Radeon RX 9070 XT, but the following is expected: the RDNA 4 architecture, a Navi 48 (GFX 1201) graphics processor and 64 computing units (CUs). Other specifications include 4,096/8,192 dual-issue Shader Units (ALUs), 128 Raster Processors (ROPs), and 64 Ray Tracing Cores (RT Cores). Clock speeds are said to be between 2.8 and 3.1 GHz, with a graphics memory of 16 GiB GDDR6, a memory speed of 20 Gbps and a 256-bit memory interface. The memory bandwidth is expected to be 640 GB/s, and an AMD Infinity Cache of 64 MiB will also be integrated. The TDP/TGP should be 260 watts. A total of three variants are planned - Red Devil, Hellhound and a new Reaper series - and the official presentation of the new Radeon graphics cards will take place on January 6, 2025 at 8 p.m. CET by AMD's CEO Lisa Su.

Teaser and expectations for the RX 9070 XT

In other news, PowerColor has released the first images of the AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT, which is expected at a special presentation during CES 2025. The RX 9070 XT is part of PowerColor's Red Devil GPU series and aims to challenge Nvidia's dominance in the GPU market. Rumors suggest that the RX 9070 XT will offer ray tracing performance similar to the Nvidia GeForce RTX 4080.

The released teaser images show a metal backplate with the PowerColor Red Devil logo as well as designs with three fans and a red-illuminated crystal-like structure. The specific model is not yet clearly assigned, but users on X (formerly Twitter) have reacted positively to the new 9000 series. It is also speculated that the RX 9070 XT could come onto the market in February 2025, while lower models will follow in March. The official specifications are not expected to be revealed until AMD's announcement, which is scheduled to take place at CES 2025 as early as next week.
