Nvidia announces revolutionary AI supercomputer for the desktop!
Nvidia unveiled a groundbreaking product at CES in Las Vegas that could revolutionize the future of artificial intelligence. CEO Jensen Huang presented the more compact AI supercomputer called “Project Digits,” which is expected to be available in May for $3,000. A secret chip known as GB10 will enable developers, data scientists and students to work on complex AI models. Demand for such devices could further solidify Nvidia's already dominant position in the AI industry, an article by Krone.at reported.
New technologies for robots and self-driving cars
Nvidia not only plans to set new standards with Project Digits, but also to advance technology for robots and self-driving cars. Huang predicted that autonomous vehicles will become a billion-dollar business and unveiled a new computer called Thor that can process information from various vehicle sensors. These developments will also be of great importance for humanoid robots. A new type of software called Cosmos, which generates realistic environments, will help AI systems better understand the real world, Huang continued.
In addition to Project Digits, Nvidia has unveiled a new computing system in San Jose called Blackwell, described as driving a "new industrial revolution" through AI. This system is four times more powerful at training AI than the previous generation. Huang noted that with Blackwell there is the ability to move from pulling content from predefined databases to generating it in real time through AI. The availability of new software will make it possible to use these technologies via cloud services, enormously increasing Blackwell's potential in data centers worldwide, such as Zeit.de reported.
With advanced concepts such as “digital twins,” Nvidia aims to help companies simulate their activities in the computer before making physical changes, which could significantly increase efficiency in various areas. This shows how serious Nvidia is about implementing innovative technologies and that the industry can prepare for noticeable changes.
