Students discover first aid: heroes of the future in Dobersberg!
The fourth grade students at Dobersberg and Kautzen middle schools had the unique opportunity this week to complete a comprehensive first aid greeting course. Under the professional guidance of Aloisia Mlejnek, the district manager of the Youth Red Cross, they learned essential skills in a total of 16 hours that can be crucial in an emergency. The participants devoted intensive attention to the topics of accident prevention, emergency calls and life-saving measures and practiced dealing with various emergency scenarios, including motorcycle and car accidents, as well as the correct behavior in the event of bleeding. All students passed the final exam with flying colors, which demonstrates their excellent performance, as reported NOEN.
In addition, a strong focus on environmental education is placed at the Dobersberg schools in cooperation with the “Thayatal-Naturpark Dobersberg Association”. These schools are part of a project to promote nature conservation, education and regional development. The collaboration allows students to work directly with nature and helps them learn the importance of protecting the environment. A special highlight is the “Youth Forest of Confidence”, a project that was started in 2020, in which every child plants a tree or bush and labels it. This promotes awareness of climate protection and the importance of every single plant in order to sustainably protect the earth Dobersberg Nature Park highlights.
The various projects at the nature park schools offer students emotional and practical learning opportunities to deepen their understanding of their environment. In this inspiring learning environment, kids can become active themselves and experience the unique nature of their surroundings up close, which not only increases awareness of environmental issues, but also promotes a sense of responsibility for their own contribution to nature. The students experience an exciting time together and actively shape their learning content.
