Great fire in Leopoldsdorf: Construction company is fighting against Flammeninferno!
On September 19, 2025 at 10:45 a.m., the fire brigade was alerted for an assignment in Leopoldsdorf near Vienna. In a house under construction, a person was spotted on the roof, while a strong smoke development and fire expansion were observed. This alarm -rich scenario led to the increase in the alarm level from Brand 2 to Brand 3, which also resulted in the alerting of additional tank fire vehicles and a lifting vehicle. The fire brigades Leopoldsdorf, Maria Lanzendorf and Lanzendorf were immediately on hand.
The fire layer was particularly delicate: an extensive fire had spread in insulation materials and on the roof area. At the time of the mission, no people were present on the roof. The emergency services therefore started the fastest extinguishing measures. A quick attack management was activated for the first fire -fighting attack, followed by two further extinguishing pipes and a special supply line.
Operations and initial successes
The head of operations and his team immediately performed a coordinated approach. A respiratory protection squad was able to start extinguishing work outside, while another squad explored the situation on the roof skin and the third squad prepared for a possible internal attack. Thanks to these quick measures, the first extinguishing successes could be achieved after just a few minutes.
In the course of the operation, additional respiratory protection team and the aerial ladder of the Schwechat fire brigade were requested for reinforcement. These measures were necessary to fully control the risk of fire. At 12:56 p.m. the "fire from" was then reported by operations manager Andreas Perner.
Injured and emergency services
Unfortunately, the homeowner was registered with suspected flue gas poisoning. He was immediately looked after by the Red Cross emergency services and taken to the hospital. Fortunately, there were no other injuries.
A total of around 90 members of the fire brigades from Leopoldsdorf, Maria Lanzendorf, Lanzendorf, Ebersdorf, Hennersdorf and Schwechat and 24 vehicles were deployed. The district operations manager of the Red Cross and three rescue activities were also available for support. Operating manager Andreas Perner expressed his thanks to everyone involved, including the fire brigade, rescue and police.
Documentation and follow -up
Documentation of such a mission is of central importance. As [TÜV Süd] (https://de-brandschutz-information-informationportal.tuvsud.com/artikel/feuerwehr Esen-daufauf.html), the process of a fire brigade mission is systematically recorded in order to enable a detailed evaluation. This includes the creation of an operational report, which serves as a legal document for possible insurance examinations or criminal investigations. It is important that [lumiform] (https://lumiformapp.com/de/resourcen-checklisten/feuerwehr- Use report) provides a clear overview of the situation and the measures carried out. A good report not only provides information about what and where, but also about why and how and how.
Overall, this assignment impressively shows how well coordinated emergency services can react to dangerous situations with quick action and the correct equipment to prevent worse things.
