Train cancellations in Hesse: DB warns of disruptions on December 7th!

Deutsche Bahn is sounding the alarm! Travelers in Hesse have to prepare for massive restrictions on train traffic. On December 7th, 2024, between 8:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., there will be partial and train cancellations in the Frankfurt(Main)Hbf area due to a sudden illness of signal box staff. The railway has already announced the affected lines and the situation is tense!

The S-Bahn line S1, which runs from Wiesbaden Hbf via Frankfurt Hbf to Rödermark-Ober Roden, will only run every 30 minutes. It looks even more dramatic for the RB22: Most trains between Hofheim (Taunus) and Frankfurt (Main) Hbf are canceled! Travelers should prepare for significant delays, particularly due to Eintracht Frankfurt's home game, which will attract additional passengers. Deutsche Bahn recommends using the S2 as an alternative to cover the route between Niedernhausen(Taunus) and Frankfurt(Main)Hbf.

Important information for travelers

Deutsche Bahn advises all passengers to find out about the current operating situation before departure. The information can be accessed via the bahn.de website or the DB Navigator app. Travelers should also pay attention to the announcements and advertisements at the stations and on the trains. The punctuality of Deutsche Bahn remains a hot topic! In 2023, only around 64 percent of long-distance trains were on time. Construction sites, renovations and technical malfunctions are common reasons for delays. The situation is tense and travelers must prepare for unforeseen changes!
