New Year's reception in Lingenfeld: Awards and future plans unveiled!

On January 12, 2025, the New Year's reception took place in the newly renovated Goldberghalle in Lingenfeld. Mayor Markus Kropfreiter expressed his joy over the well -filled hall and opened the event with a musical overture of the Cordimento group under the direction of Julius Holzmann. A special highlight was the greeting of the star singers, who performed with "Stern over Bethlehem". During the event, a collection was organized under the motto "Children's Rights" for projects in Kenya and Colombia, led by Aline Geißler.

Kopfreiter praised the commitment of the citizens and clubs, named the volunteer fire brigade as an example of the community spirit and pointed out the challenges of the community, despite financial difficulties. For 2025 there are several projects on the agenda, including the general renovation of the St. Elisabeth day care center with a budget of 1 million euros and the preliminary planning for the renovation of Germersheimer Straße. Furthermore, the center of town is to be developed and the outdoor area at the youth center is to be redesigned. The fiber optic expansion, a dirt bike railway, the continued work at the health center and senior citizens-friendly living space as well as digitization in daycare centers are also on the list.

Mayor Frank Leibeck of the community also spoke about the important role of the community and the associated challenges. Several people were also honored as part of the New Year's reception: Bianca Dietrich from the SPD received an award for its commitment to the local council and the association council, as well as for their support during the Corona crisis, in particular with regard to the daycare landscape. Michaela Emling was honored for her contribution to Franco-German friendship. Emling was a high school teacher for French and acted as a translator at meeting with the partner community Torcy. The event came to a conclusion with the traditional singing of the "Lingenfeld hymn".

The official opening of the Goldberghalle, which took place on February 3, 2024, was also important. The celebration started at 11:00 a.m. in the foyer. In his welcoming speech, Kropfreiter emphasized the importance of the event for the community, while Interior Minister Michael Ebling expressed his enthusiasm for the new hall. Timo Freund, who gave a review of the construction period, also thanked everyone involved, including architects, engineers, construction companies and the municipality. The new equipment elements of the hall include durable rubber floor, wood paneling, new ventilation systems, electrical installations and a catering area. The outdoor facilities should also be upgraded. The goal of the event was a celebration of the reopening and the presentation of the new Goldberghalle.
