Kottgeisering shines with gold: Award for a lively village community!
The municipality of Kottgeisering triumphed in the district decision of the “Our Village has a Future” competition and brilliantly secured first place. The District President of Upper Bavaria, Konrad Schober, presented the gold medal to Mayor Andreas Folger at the Cultural Forum in Oberaltaich, recognizing the exemplary development of the village and its lively village community. Particularly noteworthy are the numerous active contributions from citizens, which have a significant impact on what is happening in the town and demonstrate cohesion, says Folger. “Participation was worth it, which is why we are proud to receive this award,” reported Mayor Folger, as is also documented on the Kottgeisering municipality website.
Preservation and renewal for the future
Kottgeisering has been intensively committed to village renewal since 2009. This includes the redesign of the village square and the village street in collaboration with the Office for Rural Development. These measures are intended to sustainably improve the appearance of the village and the quality of life of the residents. On the occasion of the competition, citizens and associations presented extensive voluntary projects that both strengthen the village community and contribute to the preservation of local culture. Another project to protect against heavy rain is now being implemented, which includes new flood troughs to prevent damage to the site, as reported on the Kottgeisering website.
Numerous residents came together for the award ceremony to celebrate their community's achievements. A small Kneipp facility and a newly designed relaxation area will invite you to relax in the future. In addition, the municipality of Leobendorf was awarded the silver medal and is following in the footsteps of Kottgeisering, which is working on its future to a similar extent. These awards strengthen the community and show that continued commitment bears fruit.
