Knickpflege in Krummbek: New signs clarify about important measures!
Krummbek, Deutschland - In Krummbek, a kink was recently cultivated, which led some passers -by to misunderstandings and outrage. The kink, which separates the sports field from the way, was "placed on the stick" - an important measure for nature conservation, which is necessary every 10 to 15 years to ensure the dense growth of the plants. Heiner Stagggen, a farmer and a knick ambassador of the Schleswig-Holstein Heimatbund (SHHB), explains: "Only through a radical pruning is the ecological benefit." In order to counteract the confusion and better inform the public, new information signs have been set up, which explain the correct care of the Knicks, reported Shz.de.
Knicks as important landscape elements
Knicks are not only in Krummbek, but also shape the cultural landscape throughout Schleswig-Holstein. They fulfill many functions, including erosion protection and the provision of habitats for numerous plant and animal species. With a total length of around 55,000 km, they serve as green bridges between agricultural areas, which underlines their importance for biological diversity. According to the current provisions, Knicks must be cared for every ten years, whereby legal regulations must be observed in order not only to protect nature, but also to avoid financial losses in the form of cuts in direct payments, as the farmlet reports.
The new initiative of the SHHB and the national association of contractors in agriculture and forestry in Schleswig-Holstein aims to cover this information requirement and clear out misunderstandings. Up to 50 of these signs are to be set up across the country. The project is seen as a kind of award for the contractors and the respective farmers who take care of the care of the Knicks. These clear communication strategies are essential to maintain and protect the important role of the Knicks in the landscape, while the public is made aware of the public.
If you are interested in receiving an information sign, you can contact SHHB by mid -January. Interested parties will receive further information on professional kink care from the Schleswig-Holstein Chamber of Agriculture at Knick@lksh.de.
