As part of his sold-out anniversary concert at Globe Vienna on November 14, 2025, Andy Lee Lang was awarded the professional title “Professor”. This honor came during the celebrations for his 40th stage anniversary, which was attended by around 1,300 visitors. The award was presented by Doris Wolfslehner, a representative of the Federal Ministry for Housing, Art, Culture, Media and Sport. The moment was celebrated with thunderous applause as Lang performed with his band The Spirit.

The anniversary show presented a musical journey through time through rock 'n' roll history and included both classics and tracks from Lang's latest farewell album "The Voice". Songs included included hits such as “Great Balls Of Fire”, “Johnny B. Goode”, “Under The Boardwalk” and “Unchained Melody”. Lang, who excelled on the piano, once again showed his outstanding entertainer qualities and was accompanied by a seven-piece band that featured talented musicians such as Stefan Gössinger (trumpet), Tom Müller (tenor saxophone) and Martin Wenninger (guitar).

Special guests and a remarkable career

Special guests at the event included the singer Maya Hakvoort and the well-known musicians Gregor Glanz, Gary Lux and Peter Kern. Andy Lee Lang has worked with over 80 international show business legends in his career, including names such as Jerry Lee Lewis, Fats Domino and George Harrison, further cementing his status as a figurehead of rock 'n' roll. The band The Spirit accompanied many superstars and contributed significantly to Lang's success.

The honor with the title “Professor” is not only a personal honor for Lang, but also a sign of respect for his contributions to the Austrian music scene. His influence and commitment to the rock and roll genre is considerable. According to a list of Austrian rock musicians, Lang himself has earned a permanent place in the rock music scene.
