Christmas concert in Bad Hersfeld: Romantic harmonies inspire!

A special Christmas concert took place in the heart of Bad Hersfeld on the last Sunday of Advent, which took visitors into a world far away from the usual Christmas melodies. The Chamber Choir of the Working Group for Music (AfM) performed an impressive repertoire of romantic Christmas music in the historic setting under the motto “Hymn of the Angels…” Bach House. The musicians, under the direction of Christof Becker and accompanied by pianist Alexander Stepanov, invited the listeners to experience well-known pieces in a new light, including works by Felix Mendelssohn-Bartholdy and Max Reger.

The performance was not only balanced in terms of sound, but also impressed with the skills of the singers, who quickly freed themselves from their initial hesitation and shone with a radiant presence. Particularly striking was the luminosity of the women's voices, which, together with Stepanov's skilful interpretations, created an atmosphere that gave the well-known Christmas classics a fresh coat of paint. The concert ended with an enthusiastic audience who rewarded the artists with sustained applause.

A place of culture and inspiration

The Bachhaus, a cultural center in Bad Hersfeld, was officially opened in 2004 and has since invited artists from various areas and promoted musical encounters. The rooms are not only available for concerts like that of the chamber choir, but also for seminars and lectures. Thanks to its extensive equipment with keyboard instruments, the house enables the exploration of music from all eras, making it an important location for the region's cultural work, such as HNA reported.
