A serious accident at work occurred today during beating work in Ludmannsdorf. A 72-year-old man was busy cutting work alone with a chainsaw. During this work, the chainsaw jammed in a tree trunk, resulting in a dramatic incident.
When the man tried to free the saw with a second chainsaw, the tree tipped over and trapped his hand between the trunk and the cutting blade of the discarded saw. The man was unable to free himself and shouted loudly for help. An attentive neighbor heard his cries for help and immediately alerted the emergency services.
Rescue operation by the fire department
The Ludmannsdorf fire department responded quickly to the emergency call and was able to free the injured man. After initial treatment on site, the man was taken to Klagenfurt University Hospital with serious injuries.
