Ramsau in turmoil: Who will be the new mayor after Fischbacher's resignation?

At the foot of the Dachstein there is a lot of boiling going on! In Ramsau, the political landscape is turning upside down: Mayor Ernst Fischbacher, the community's passionate leader, has announced that he is stepping down. The reason? A conflict over old debts and divided opinions in the country. Fischbacher said he is convinced that a passionate person can continue to steer the community well. His decision comes as a complete surprise - especially for the ÖVP, which is now trying to deal with the situation with the help of Hannes Uttinger. Uttinger is optimistic that her team has the necessary strength to overcome the challenges. However, there are also other voices in Ramsau: Hans-Peter Pitzer from the FPÖ is unsure and fears that there was not enough time to convince voters.

Changing political power relations

The memories of Fischbacher's work as mayor come to life, especially through the achievements of the Ernst Fischbacher list, which aims to promote the regional economy. It is particularly important to process the products of local farmers and market them profitably. This could have a significant impact on the community's future, as evidenced by the candidates' statements. Niklas Brandstätter, also in the race for mayor today, communicates: “We want to develop solutions for the future as a team” and is considering a commitment to the community. The rumor that Fischbacher could possibly return as mayor after the elections also remains interesting.

There is similar turbulence in the neighborhood, in the Ennstal. The incumbent mayor of Schladming, Hermann Trinker, should keep calm despite the heated debates in the local council. But the opposition, led by the FPÖ with Eva Kroismayr-Baier, is dissatisfied with the current developments. “There is a lot of arguing in local council meetings and different opinions are not seen as an opportunity,” says Kroismayr-Baier. Meanwhile, there are changes in Haus: Mayor Stefan Knapp resigns, Rudi Schafflinger from the Haus list wants to take over the leadership, amid a return of the ÖVP under Matthias Schwab. The dynamic changes in the region promise exciting political disputes in the coming weeks.
