New place of work: Stefan Onckels heads the Kleve police station!
CLEVE. The Kleve police station has a new head: Stefan Onckels, who has been in this position since April 2024. The experienced police officer, who began his service in 1989, brings extensive knowledge of various areas of the police force. After his training in Cologne and Moers and a position in Geldern and Goch, he took on various management roles before moving to Kevelaer as guard manager in 2021. After a short time as head in Emmerich, Onckels was promoted to head of the largest police station in the Kleve district, as the Niederrhein Nachrichten reported.
Focus on security and proximity to citizens
As the new head of the guard, Onckels would like to focus on issues such as safe routes to school and reducing the number of traffic accidents. A good relationship between the police and the population is particularly important to him. This also includes an increased presence of officials to make contact easier. This is supported by the Kleve police, which is active in the municipalities of Kranenburg, Kleve, Bedburg-Hau and Kalkar, as explained in a report by the NRW police.
Onckels, who enjoys traveling in his motorhome with his wife and dog, is also active in competitive dog sports and thus brings a personal touch to his new role. His many years of experience and focus on citizen safety will be crucial for the work of the Kleve Police Station in the coming years.
