Kitzingen swimmers shine when Christmas swimming in Crailsheim!

The swimmers of the gymnastics community Kitzingen shone at Christmas swimming in Crailsheim, where they returned home with an impressive medal set. Matilda Gold (born in 2013) was particularly outstanding, who won in her disciplines - butterfly, freestyle and back - three times gold and silver (layers) and once bronze (chest). Her teammate Björn Eißner (2015) also won three gold (layers, chest, back) and a silver medal (freestyle). Also for the smallest in the group, Jana Wallrapp (2015), went particularly well: In her first competition, she won two gold medals (back, freestyle) and a silver (breast).

success in judo sport

On an international stage, Judoka Samira Bock from TSV Großhadern set a strong sign and secured the title at the U23 European Championships in Potsdam. In the exciting final, the 20-year-old defeated the Ukrainian Anna Oliinyk-Korniiko and crowned the European champion of up to 70 kg. Raffaela Igl from TSV Abensberg won the silver medal in her class up to 78 kg, but had to give up in the final against Ukrainian Yuliia Kurchenko. With their achievements, other fighters also contributed to the success of the German team, which took seventh place in the overall ranking.

Both sporting events impressively show how German athletes act successfully in their respective disciplines. While the swimmers of Kitzingen collected medal around medal, the judoka proved that they are competitive at European level. It was again visible in the water and on the mat what talent and hard work can do. The success of the Kitzingen swimmers and the judoka testify to the diversity and strength of German sport.
