Young researchers illuminate the real estate market for students!

In Weiz, four dedicated HLW FSB students have launched an innovative project with their diploma thesis “Real Estate Market - Improved Prediction of Vermögen”. Olivia Akrasi, Anja Heuberger, Hannah Oberreßl and Sonja Rohrer have set themselves the task of facilitating young people access to the complex mechanisms of the real estate market. In order to shed light on the challenges “living during their studies” that affect many young people, they carried out a comprehensive survey among students from the Medical University of Graz, such as meinzirk.at reported. The focus focused on problems such as rising rental prices and limited living opportunities.

practical insights and expert interviews

The students continued and interviewed representatives from surrounding communities and developments in the regional real estate sector. This direct interaction enabled valuable insights into local differences and the special challenges of smaller municipalities. A highlight of the work was an expert interview, organized by Raiffeisenbank Weiz-Anger, which offered the young researchers a professional perspective on their results and stimulated them for further considerations.

The modern presentation of the results, about which the four students in their school -owned podcast "Carlo’s Couch" report is particularly impressive. "We wanted to prepare the topic in such a way that it is understandable and accessible to everyone," said one of the young real estate experts. With this approach, you succeed in beating a bridge between theory, practice and education and making a valuable contribution to a socially relevant discussion, as described by the guidelines for diploma thesis, which one here can see.
