Young researchers illuminate the real estate market for students!
In Weiz, four committed students from HLW FSB launched an innovative project with their diploma thesis “Real Estate Market – Improved Prediction of Assets”. Olivia Akrasi, Anja Heuberger, Hannah Oberreßl and Sonja Rohrer have made it their mission to make it easier for young people to access the complex mechanisms of the real estate market. In order to shed light on the challenges of “living while studying” that affect many young people, they conducted a comprehensive survey among students at the Medical University of Graz meinkreis.at reported. Problems such as rising rent prices and limited housing options came into focus.
Practical insights and expert interviews
The students went further and interviewed representatives from surrounding communities about concerns and developments in the regional real estate sector. This direct interaction provided valuable insights into local differences and the specific challenges of smaller communities. A highlight of the work was an expert interview organized by Raiffeisenbank Weiz-Anger, which offered the young researchers a professional perspective on their results and encouraged them to think further.
What is particularly impressive is the modern presentation of the results, which the four students report on in their school podcast “Carlo’s Couch”. “We wanted to prepare the topic in such a way that it was understandable and accessible to everyone,” explained one of the young real estate experts. With this approach, they manage to build a bridge between theory, practice and education and make a valuable contribution to a socially relevant discussion, as the guidelines for the diploma thesis describe here can see.
