Integration in Cuxhaven: Unique program for better cooperation

In Cuxhaven, integration is very important! At a celebration for the unique Seven Level integration program, the participants proudly received their certificates. Bodo Mayerhof, the first chairman of the Christian Social Work Cuxhaven, praised the efforts of the participants, who come from different countries and cultures. Among them were not only Africans, but also refugee Ukrainians, who all pursue the common goal of integrating themselves in Germany. In the solemn act, in which Mayor Uwe Santjer also took part, the commitment of the graduates who did over 400 hours of voluntary work. With the support of the "Duolingo" app, they learned German and were suitable about German culture. Bodo Mayerhof emphasized that more than 60 percent of the participants have already found a job, which represents considerable benefits for society and the state, since an estimated 120,000 euros were saved in costs.

New Year's reception with family actions

In addition to integration, the city of Cuxhaven is optimistic about the future. On January 7, 2024, the traditional New Year's reception will take place in the Kugelbake Hall, where Mayor Uwe Santjer will welcome the guests with new promotions and surprises. Entry is free and all Cuxhaven and guests are invited to take part in various hands -on activities. The event not only wants to look back, but also strengthen the community, and offers numerous stands of local companies and musical entertainment. Despite the global crises, Santjer emphasizes how important the cohesion in the city is to manage challenges together. Entrepreneurs and clubs will be represented during the reception to imagine and encourage them to participate, which promotes the bond within the community.

During the New Year's reception, there is also the possibility to donate to the Cuxhaven animal shelter, which will be represented with a stand. The event combines festive entertainment with a good cause, which underlines the connection between the citizens. The reception is an important reason to strengthen the sense of community in Cuxhaven and celebrate the success of the past year, while at the same time looking at the challenges and opportunities of the new year.
