Innovation in journalism: APA and Google rely on digital solutions!

Laimgrubengasse 10, 1060 Wien, Österreich - The cooperation between the Austria Press Agency (APA) and Google Austria continues their successful course and steps into the third year. As part of the Digital News Initiative (DNI), innovative projects are realized to support the media ecosystem. Google will continue to support the APA in developing specific applications for the media industry, as reported. The projects include Trusted News and Data for Media that aim to optimize and enrich journalistic work through modern digital solutions.

A central point of the new projects is the "Newsroom Live", a system for real -time planning and cooperation in the editorial workflow, which is also to be implemented in the Swiss media market. The “Data4Content Regio” project is also expanded to make regional data, such as real estate price development, usable in journalistic content. In addition, a fact checking conference is organized to promote the exchange of combating disinformation, as Google Austria posted in her blog. These events bundle expertise from the roof room and help to strengthen trust in journalism.

The cooperation also aims to support the APA by offering workshops for digital transformation and using AI. With regard to the upcoming elections, special emphasis is attached to the fact that quality journalism works with reliable, verified data. Due to the development of advanced data services and other tools, smaller editorial offices should primarily enable their reporting to be efficient in order to meet the challenges of 2024, a super election year, such as blog.google reported.

Apa CEO Clemens Pig emphasized the importance of such cooperation and the need to find innovative solutions together. Maimuna Mosser, Country Director of Google Austria, also expressed itself positively: "APA is one of the most important and innovative press agencies in Europe, and we are happy to continue cooperation." This partnership is crucial to support Austrian media in technical transformation and to maximize the potential of digital technologies in your newsrooms.
