Hendrik Diekmann: Comeback in Hamburg's top league after bad luck with injuries!

Hendrik Diekmann, a 34-year-old soccer player, is planning another year in the Hamburg Oberliga. He has an impressive sporting past, in which he was active at Kickers Emden, VfL Oldenburg and SV Hage, among others. However, his last appearance at the Supercup with SV Hage was unsatisfactory as he was eliminated in the preliminary round. However, it was more important for Diekmann to stay injury-free.

Diekmann aims to play for the Hamburg-Eimsbütteler Ballspiel-Club (HEBC). After tearing a ligament three times during the last preseason friendly, he was forced to take a break. He limped while attending the derby against SV Meppen, highlighting the medical challenges he faces. The player keeps in touch with former teammates in Emden, especially captain Tido Steffens and Marvin Eilerts. He has lived in Hamburg with his wife and son Oscar for five years.

Current situation at HEBC

Diekmann works as team leader of the training market team at the employment agency. Without Diekmann's involvement, HEBC got off to a bad start to the season and lost the first five games. Despite these failures, coach Özden Kocadal remains in office, but will move to TuS Dassendorf at the end of the season. From summer onwards, Philipp Obloch will take over the position of trainer at HEBC.

Diekmann is considering playing another year and discussions are imminent. Interestingly, his son takes part in the Rabauken football school at FC St. Pauli, which underlines the family's football connection.
