Craftsman bonus: Secure important funding until the end of February!

The craftsman bonus is extremely popular in Austria and thus provides urgently needed support for craft businesses. At the end of 2024, 84,010 applications had already been approved, and around 1,500 new ones were added every day. This initiative, which was introduced by the Federal Ministry of Labor and Economic Affairs, supports both companies and households and, according to Labor and Economics Minister Martin Kocher, shows how important this program is. So far, around 65.4 million euros have flowed from the funding, which has contributed to local craft businesses already generating 327 million euros in work actually performed bmaw.gv.at reported.

Funding amount and application deadlines

The average funding level of the craftsman bonus is around 780 euros per approved application. Services that are particularly in demand come from the areas of carpentry, painting, gas and plumbing technology. Hermanns Talowski, chairman of the trade and craft division, emphasized the importance of the bonus for the economy: “It was really a very strong economic support measure.” The funding pot includes a total of 100 million euros for 2025. The higher funding rates of up to 2,000 euros per person and residential unit apply until the end of February. From March 1st, this maximum funding will drop to 1,500 euros steiermark.orf.at reported.

The opportunity to apply runs until February 28, 2025 for services provided in 2024. The rapid processing of applications by the federal accounting agency ensures that the program's homepage has been deliberately kept simple to make it easier for citizens to submit applications. This is particularly important in order to further strengthen the construction industry and to create incentives for craft services.
