A serious incident occurred in Vösendorf when the mayor Hannes Koza (ÖVP) was brutally attacked on Tuesday evening. Koza reported that he was hit in the face in the castle park and threatened with death. "The attacker said I would not survive the municipal council meeting that took place tomorrow," he told the "Kronen Zeitung". Koza is under pressure after a year that was shaped by political disputes and a clear election victory in May. The investigation against him, which led to an accusation of infidelity and abuse of office, were discontinued. "My family is in shock, especially my 14-year-old daughter is afraid for her father," continued Koza. Nevertheless, the mayor emphasizes that he continues to seek dialogue with the opposition.
