1. FC Magdeburg has once again committed itself to social projects in the region. The Tierisch geborgen e.V. association received a donation that will be used specifically for its animal-supported projects, especially the school sponsor dogs. These school sponsor dogs have been supporting students for over 20 years and provide valuable help in increasing concentration, motivation, comforting the soul and in learning patience and perseverance.
The donations will go to the school sponsor dog Ronja, who will work in classrooms in the new school year. The aim is to support the students in their development. In addition, 1. FC Magdeburg supports the Ärzte der Welt e.V. association, which runs an open.med practice in Magdeburg. This practice is aimed at people with limited access to the healthcare system. It opened in November 2024 and is part of a network in Germany that will offer free basic medical care and social advice from spring 2025.
Support for vulnerable groups
The target group of the open.med practice includes EU citizens without socially insured work, homeless people and refugees without a secure residence status. The donations will be used to create a barrier-free ramp for the practice. Furthermore, 1. FC Magdeburg also supports the Association for Criminal Care and Probation Services. The support goes to the anti-violence training project, which has been successfully carried out for over ten years.
This training is aimed at people who are prone to violence and is based on the Magdeburg model. It includes modules tailored to the individual needs of participants, with the main objectives being behavior change, self-reflection and prevention. The club's financial support is used to cover the costs of space and equipment for the training.

Further details about the club's commitment can be found in the official report of 1. FC Magdeburg at 1. FC Magdeburg.
